





Outpatient Therapists
Susan Meyer, LCPC, NCC, and a graduate of Old Dominion University. Ms. Meyer holds
Masters of Education in Counseling (M Ed) and a Masters of Science in Allied Healthcare.
Ms. Meyer has trained in cognitive behavioral therapy & more recently studied brief
and solution focused approaches to treatment. Ms Meyer believes in the power of the
individual to facilitate change; employing a caring and direct approach to help her
clients develop successful techniques to deal with their problems.
Lissa Hicks, MS., CSC-AD, joining the team in the spring of 2009. Ms. Hicks works
full time for the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, in the
Adult services arena. She has also worked for Second Genesis, Avery Road, HIDTA program
in Washington, DC and Gale House, Inc., in Frederick, MD. Ms. Hicks received her
Masters degree in Psychology, from Hood College, in Frederick, Maryland. She is currently
working toward licensure.
Sara Rose, MS, LGPC, Family Therapist, Step Ahead Program, Intensive Outpatient Program,
is the newest therapist to join the KHI Services team. Ms. Rose has a Master’s Degree
in Counseling Psychology from Frostburg State University and a BA in Psychology from
Towson University. She previously worked with children & adolescents with developmental
disabilities in home school and inpatient settings.
Lisa Rainey, MS, LGPC, joined KHI Services, Inc. In January, 2011. Ms. Rainey will
be conducting educational sessions and some adult substance abuse counseling groups,
as well as selected mental health client. Lisa graduated from Johns Hopkins University
in May, 2010. Ms. Rainey has experience working with children and their families,
individually and in groups. Her areas of interest include working with adults, children
and adolescents, families, stress management, anger management, substance abuse and
mental health concerns.
