Our Roots
KHI Services, Inc. was founded in 1971 by a group of interested Montgomery County citizens, led by members of Saint Mark Presbyterian Church. KHI Services, Inc. is not affiliated with any religious group and serves anyone in Maryland fitting the admission guidelines to the programs we offer.
Our Mission
The mission of KHI Services, Inc. is to provide therapeutic program services to youth, adults and their families, to help them become successful community participants. Adopted by KHI Services, Inc. Board of Directors, May, 2009
Karma Philosophy
The Karma Philosophy has always maintained successful interventions with youth must involve parents/guardians in each step of the process. In this way the family is better prepared to address the issues/problems/ questions that invariably arise after a youth returns home. Our program therapists work closely with parents to permanently reunify the family.
KHI Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization, founded in 1971, originally with the intention of serving runaway boys from Montgomery County. After a relatively short period of time it became apparent to the board that the population really needing service was boys with serious behavioral problems who were unsuccessful in other placements or unable to remain in their homes.
Over the years KHI Services, Inc. has operated a variety of programs, including group homes for girls and a state owned program in Carroll County. Currently the company operates a residential program, four outpatient substance abuse programs and a wraparound program for youth with behavioral problems. While we are always interested in expanding our services we do so with the intent of keeping to our company's original purpose - to serve youth and their families and adults in a therapeutic environment.
