Level I Adolescent Substance Abuse Outpatient Services

The Level I outpatient alcohol and substance abuse clinic for adolescents in our Germantown office, serves youth between the ages of 12 and 18  We offer a six month program that meets twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays), for one hour, in group sessions conducted by licensed therapists or certified addictions counselors. Therapists develop an Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), which details the goals and objectives for each youth entering the program. This ITP is reviewed at individual/family sessions 45 days into treatment and again at 90 days, with possible changes and updates occurring at each session. The Level I program is designed to counsel and educate youth toward personal insight into the detrimental impact that drugs and alcohol has on a youth.

All youth are expected to submit an observed urine sample each time they attend a group counseling session. Additional individual sessions are conducted when a youth submits a positive urinalysis or is un-cooperative during sessions or misses too many group sessions.

The Level I Outpatient Program serves approximately 50 youth in outpatient substance abuse counseling groups and individual and family sessions in a six month program. Counseling sessions begin as early as 4:00 pm, with additional sessions at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 7:00 pm. The number of group times are dependent upon the number of clients in the program at any given time. Educational sessions for the Level I Program are conducted on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Six educational sessions are required during the first 45 days in the program.

A pre-discharge meeting is conducted approximately one month prior to discharge. This session is intended to develop/change/restructure the ITP as it was revised at the time of the 90-day review and prepare the youth for life without treatment.

Currently the Step Ahead Program accepts some insurances. Ask the Office Manager when you call for your appointment if we accept your insurance. If we are not on your insurance company’s provider panel we will work with you to develop a payment plan that works for you and KHI Services, Inc.
